Construction Debris Hauling in Los Angeles

Construction debris hauling is heavy work. Concrete, brick, tile, plaster and wet soil weigh far more than household junk, and many junk haulers will not touch them. NEO Demolition & Hauling runs dump trucks and dump trailers built for these loads, so we can haul construction and demolition debris that would overload a pickup or a light truck.

We haul debris from our own demolition jobs every day, and we haul for homeowners, remodelers and builders who need a pile gone. If you have the debris, we can load it, sort it and take it away.

Heavy Debris Needs the Right Truck

A small pile of broken concrete can weigh more than a full room of furniture. Our Ram 5500 with a dump body and our Big Tex dump trailers are made for dense material. Dumping at the facility is quick, which keeps each trip efficient.

When the pile is big or far from the street, our Bobcat skid steer can move material to the truck instead of carrying it by hand. On tight lots, a Kubota mini excavator can reach over walls and into narrow yards.

Types of Construction Debris We Haul

Here is what typically fills our trucks on construction and remodeling jobs.

  • Concrete from driveways, patios, slabs and footings, including rebar
  • Brick, block, stone and pavers
  • Asphalt from driveways and parking areas
  • Framing lumber, plywood, decking and fencing
  • Drywall, plaster and lath
  • Roofing material from tear-offs
  • Tile, countertops, cabinets and fixtures from remodels
  • Dirt and soil from grading or excavation

Sorting Debris for Recycling in Los Angeles

Los Angeles expects much of its construction and demolition debris to be recycled, and clean, separated loads are easier to recycle. We sort on site into concrete and masonry, wood, metal and rebar, drywall and mixed debris. We separate concrete, metal, wood and other recyclable materials whenever practical.

Sorting starts at the demolition. When we break out a patio or tear out a kitchen, materials are separated as they come out so they never end up mixed in the first place.

Hauling for Builders, Remodelers and Owner-Builders

Remodelers use us to clear the debris from a kitchen or bath tear-out without renting a dumpster. Builders use us when a site has grown a pile that needs to go before the next phase. Owner-builders call when they have done the demo work themselves and need the result gone.

For ongoing projects, we can set a regular pickup schedule. For one-time hauls, we can often look at the pile the same day and give you a free estimate.

Debris Left Behind by Other Contractors

Sometimes a project ends and the debris stays. A previous contractor walks off the job, or a remodel finishes with a pile of broken tile and framing in the side yard. We get calls from homeowners who just want that pile gone so they can use their yard again.

We will look at the pile, tell you what it is made of and how we will load it, and give you a free estimate. Once it is hauled, we rake or sweep the area so you can see the ground again.

No Dumpster on the Street

Roll-off dumpsters in LA can require street permits, block driveways and sit for days. With our trucks, debris is loaded and gone the same day. That suits hillside homes, narrow streets and properties where neighbors are already tired of construction.

Construction Debris Hauling FAQs

Can you haul concrete with rebar in it?

Yes. Reinforced concrete is common on our jobs, from pool decks to driveways. We cut or break it to a size we can load and haul.

Will you load debris that I already piled up?

Yes. We load from the pile wherever it is on the property. If it is in a back yard with limited access, we will plan the route and the equipment at the estimate.

Do you haul dirt from a grading or excavation job?

Yes. Soil is heavy and we have the dump trucks for it. We can also do the grading or excavation ourselves if the work has not started yet.

Can you haul old roofing material?

Yes. Roofing debris from tear-offs is a regular load for us. If you need the tear-off done too, we can handle that as part of the same job.

How is construction debris hauling different from junk hauling?

Construction debris is denser, often needs sorting by material, and goes to different facilities than household junk. That is why we use dump trucks and trailers for it, and why we sort it on site.

Do you need a permit to haul construction debris?

Hauling itself is part of our normal work. The demolition that creates the debris may need a permit depending on the scope, and we coordinate permits and scheduling around LA restrictions when we are doing the demolition.
