Remodel Demo in Historic Homes
In neighborhoods like Bungalow Heaven and around the Arroyo Seco, owners usually want to keep original woodwork, built-ins, fireplaces and windows. We remove only what's planned, protect floors with Ram Board and cover trim and openings with plastic.
Plaster walls, old tile and layered flooring take patience to remove cleanly, and we take that time.
- Kitchen and bathroom tear-outs
- Plaster and lath removal
- Later additions and enclosed porches
- Selective wall removal
Pasadena Permits and Historic Review
Pasadena runs its own permit center, separate from LA. The city also reviews demolition of older and historic buildings, and properties in landmark or historic districts can have added steps. Check this early if you're planning a major demolition.
Older homes may need asbestos or lead testing before demolition, and we'll tell you what's required.
Hardscape, Garages and Yards
Many Pasadena lots have old garages at the back, cracked driveways and brick or flagstone patios. We remove them and leave a clean area for new landscaping or an ADU. Many back yards also have old concrete slabs, planters and walkways. We saw-cut where new work will meet old and recycle the concrete and brick when we can.

Full Teardowns Where Allowed
Not every Pasadena project is a careful remodel. Some lots with newer or non-historic homes are cleared for rebuilds. When a teardown is approved, we take down the house, remove foundations and flatwork and leave a clean, graded lot, recycling what we can.
Hauling and Access
Pasadena is easy to reach on the 210, 134 and 110. Many streets are tree-lined with limited parking, so we plan truck placement and keep loading quick. For hauling-only jobs, see our Pasadena junk removal page. We sweep the street and sidewalk at the end of the day.
