Demolition Contractor in Studio City

Studio City has two very different kinds of job sites. North of Ventura Boulevard there are flat streets of mid-century homes. South of it, the hillside neighborhoods climb toward Mulholland on winding, narrow roads. As a demolition contractor in Studio City, we plan each job around which side of the boulevard it sits on.

We handle teardowns, pool and hardscape demolition, interior remodels and the hauling that goes with them.

Hillside Demolition South of Ventura

Hillside lots bring steep driveways, retaining walls, terraced yards and limited room to stage equipment. We have taken down hillside homes and retaining walls with mini excavators and breakers, and we use smaller trucks where big ones can't turn around.

Larger soil exports from designated hillside areas in the City of LA can require a haul route approval, so we look at grading and export early.

Pools, Decks and Hardscape

Many Studio City homes have pools, wood decks and concrete patios that owners want out during a remodel. We break out pool decks with rebar, remove old decks and clear patios down to dirt.

Interior Remodels on the Flats

On the flatter streets near the LA River and the CBS Studio Center lot, many jobs are interior guts and kitchen or bath tear-outs in mid-century homes. We protect finished floors with Ram Board, seal off rooms with plastic and clean up at the end of each day.

Teardowns on Studio City Lots

Older homes on both the hillside and the flats are often torn down for new construction. A full teardown here usually includes the house, the garage, a pool or patio and old retaining walls. We set fencing, spray water for dust, take the structure down with an excavator and remove foundations. The result is a clean lot ready for your builder's grading and new foundation.

Permits and Access in Studio City

Studio City is in the City of Los Angeles, so permits go through LADBS. Ventura Boulevard traffic and narrow canyon streets affect when and how we haul, so we time truck trips to keep the job moving and the street open.

“Absolutely great experience with Avi and his team at Neo Demolition. Their pricing was competitive, but what stood out the most was their on-time, communicative, and clean work. … At the end, the team left the house spotless, perfectly ready for the next stage of construction.”

“I used NEO for a full interior demo on a 1000sqft house. They were quick, efficient and fairly priced. Avi is on top of it and is a prompt communicator and the crew knows what they’re doing… Definitely recommend them.”

“The best! So impressed with Avi and his crew - they used special care to not create a lot of dust in my kitchen cabinet demo and left the area spotless once the work was done. Highly recommend!”

Studio City demolition FAQs

Can you get equipment up a steep Studio City driveway?

Usually. Our mini excavators and skid steers handle steep, tight sites better than full-size machines. If a site is too tight, we break material by hand and carry it out.

Do you remove in-ground pools?

We demolish pools and pool decks, including concrete with rebar. Fill and compaction requirements depend on your plans and the city, and we'll go over that during the estimate.

Will you protect my floors during an interior remodel?

Yes. We lay Ram Board on floors, hang plastic sheeting to contain dust and vacuum and sweep before we leave.

Is a haul route needed for my hillside job?

Only some hillside jobs need one, usually ones exporting larger amounts of soil. We check what applies to your property before work starts.

Can you haul away the debris from a remodel I did myself?

Yes. We do hauling-only pickups of remodel debris, old fixtures and junk. Send photos and we can tell you what kind of truck or trailer it will take.
