What's Often Left After the Fire
Many burned lots were cleared through the government debris removal program. Others were cleared privately. Either way, a lot can still have work left before a rebuild starts, depending on how it was cleared and what the new plans need.
- Old footings, slabs and foundations
- Damaged retaining walls and steps
- Cracked driveways and walkways
- Burned or damaged pools and pool decks
- Chimney remnants and masonry
Homes That Survived
Some homes still standing have smoke, heat or water damage. Repairs can mean removing drywall, insulation, flooring and cabinets down to the studs. We protect what's staying, control dust and haul everything out so repairs can begin.

LA County Permits for Altadena
Altadena is unincorporated, so building and demolition permits go through LA County Public Works, not the City of Pasadena. The county has set up rebuild resources for fire-affected owners, and requirements can change as the recovery moves along. We'll go over what your site needs and work with your builder and engineer.
Hauling for Rebuild Projects
Once construction is underway, builders still need debris hauled. We pick up wood, drywall and packaging on a schedule so rebuild sites stay clean.
Older Altadena Homes and Hillside Lots
Outside the burn area, Altadena has Craftsman, Spanish and mid-century homes on lots that rise toward the San Gabriel Mountains. Remodel demo, garage removal and hardscape work here look a lot like Pasadena next door, with more slope and longer driveways. Older homes may need asbestos or lead testing before demo, and we'll tell you what's required.
